St Patrick - Inspired Gifts

I have a confession to make. My IrishPolishGermanCatholic early childhood soul is feeling guilty writing again about my art and That Which Is Good Internet Store. How crazy is that when one reason I keep up the blog is to help my store be found.

I know my blog wonders from here to there and back... a splash if this and that of my life, not channeling one voice or interest like most do. And guess what? I have moments of guilt about that too. Luckily it gives me something to laugh about too...the complexities of my human spirit.

These days, with time on my hands I get to ponder all the quirks and hiccups of my being. My fears and my dreams all while counting my blessings.

Ok the confessional is on to the magic! ;)

March Madness is Here in Tucson!

The winds are blustery at 20-30 mph and we are tucked in our RV welcoming March.

I have a little bit if St Patrick's Day-itis!
With a Irish-Polish Mom and a German Dad I have a lot of everything else. ;)

I am wandering for blessings.
Here are a few I found to share in honor of St Patrick's Day.
(Along with my artwork and links to my online store.)

An Irish Blessing

These things I warmly wish to you
Someone to love
Some work to do

A bit o' sun
A bit o' cheer
And a guardian angel always near.

An Old Irish Blessing

May love and laughter light your days, and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

A Blessing
Dance as if no one were watching,
Sing as if no one were listening,
And live every day as if it were your last.

May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you wherever you go...

All Who Wander Magnet.

Please consider visiting my whimsical store if you are looking for a trinket for a loved one. It's full of love and good cheer!

In the end we are all one family! Link

Please add a comment of a favorite blessing or saying too!

Sweetwater Wetlands - Human Ingenuity

From the Audubon website: Sweetwater Wetland is an constructed wetland located in Tucson between I-10 and the Santa Cruz River, near Prince Road. Built in 1996, it helps treat secondary effluent and backwash from the reclaimed water treatment system at adjacent Roger Road Wastewater Treatment Plant.

It's so easy to be overwhelmed by the disruption of our financial / social changes. A time where it is easy to miss the forest for all the trees. Spending time at Sweetwater gave me hope once again that someone's magic dust can improve our world. That's probably a stretch, finding magic dust, but it I could see amazing results of putting a problem (dirty water) and people/money/values can do to not just solve the problem but improve peoples lives by making this unique, bird rich, visually inspired urban park.

Come share my walk and see if you find a bit of hope in this day too.

The gift of dirty water: Some good human beings in Tucson have created
Sweetwater Wetlands, an amazing water treatment facility, urban wildlife habitat, and a tranquil park for all of us to enjoy! The work together with the Tucson Audubon Society to share this unique urban respite with all of us.
There is some refurbishing /upgrades happening right now however it did not damper our spirits a bit. We had so much company with the water birds, hawks and turtles that we did not mind. This is a free activity in Tucson that inspires one soul. I was so grateful to be where nature, science and ingenuity touched... cleaning our water and enriching our spirit. Wear walking shoes and bring water and binoculars if you have them!

There is a series of ponds to walk by.
We saw a wide variety of birds both in the water and flying above us.

Prickly pear cactus following me around Arizona.
No matter where I go there is one somewhere to great me.
Ubiquitously friendly!

How's your landing gear?
Grateful to be here mine are strengthened.

Can you find the sunbathers in this pictures?
Those turtles sure looked relaxed!

I hope find some time to wander this week!

I wish you well.

Space Exploration - Our Earth Our Sun Our Time

Greetings Bloggers!

Last week Phil & I toured the Titan Missile Museum which is about 20 minutes south of Tucson. We couldn't help but think of both of our fathers during the tour; knowing of my father's outstanding work, inventing and manufacturing a type of solid state compositors that went into space and with Phil's dad had an amazing career for the International Union of Operating Engineers.

It was breathtaking to see the engineering and human creativity before us.

And to think of the possibility of the future!
Innovative, intelligent and strategic ...
Green Energy ... oh yes and jobs.
Imagine the possibilities!

Art in an RV Park

There is time in my day, in this desert to learn new things. My neighbors are the artists behind Project Insect. Artwork and a program that embrace insects, science and art. Jessa is teaching a pastel class here at Desert Trails and I get to take it! How cool is that? Here is my flower a reflection of her gift of art, teaching and living a passionate life.

Please check out Jessa & James website. They have a new children's book out, “How Mildred Became Famous”, to be sure to check out too!

I also took an acrylics class.
Turns out I like pastels more than acrylics...
It was just too hard for me to not splash that darn paint around.

Squidoo - Huh?

I got a loving and timely nudge from my beloved Aunt Pat about my reference to Squidoo. What is it she asked? I thought it was an excellent point given that I myself didn't know what it was till a week or two ago either. Here is a glimpse of what I know about Squidoo and the potential information value it may have. I think we better start with Facebook first.
  • Facebook was the first place I heard of the term Social-Networking. I joined Facebook sometime last year. Now I have 77 friends that share links with me. I found many of these folks again through friends of friends and/or an email search. These are a collection of loved ones and kindred spirits from many parts of my life. In this busy world it's a great way to keep & strengthen a loving, interesting and supportive community. A place to catch up with old friends and welcome new ones. You can find me on Facebook HERE. (requires you to join)
  • Squidoo is referred to as a Social-Marketing site. It is one of the latest things in internet marketing, marketing strategies and and business marketing. This site gives anyone FREE space to share knowledge and ones passion through the creation of a 'lens' by topic. For me that means I can share my knowledge and strategy on being Gluten-Free and market my art. It's already formatted for me and I can add or remove modules that provide different functions. I don't need to know html or how to write a webpage. It's easy to use! It even allows links to outside sites that may generate small amounts of revenue (affiliate marketing)which is divided between charity/squidoo/you.
  • Guess who owns Squidoo?
  • Guess who owns Blogger? (where my blog resides)
  • Google of course! It's part of the circle of internet life... how do you create interesting things like blogs, artwork, lenses... and how do others find you ... me etc? It's weaving together of the world wide web into on-line education, think tanks and communities.

TOP 100 LENSES on Squidoo!
Take a quick scroll and see if one suits your fancy!

Than jump in and make a lens!

I did.

Inspiration + Artwork + Knowledge + Connecting +
Community + Web

Gluten - Free Revisited

Oops - Can you take a few minutes and check out my Squidoo Lens on being Gluten-Free?

There is so much to learn about internet marketing. It takes lost of time and experience (at doing things wrong) seems to happen more than I would like.

I had to nix my first 'lens' and recreate it. If you visit and score the lens on the top of the page it will help others notice my work too!

Please visit: and see what you think!

Internet Highway Calls My Name

Welcome - Please stay in touch!
Subscribe by email or in a feed

Greetings All,

I am still plodding away on my CafePress Store. This past year-plus I have enjoyed learning some graphic arts. Motivated by our households need to make some money as well as my current aversion for having get a J O B anytime soon. The good news is I continue to trickle out sales even though I have such limited traffic. When I get discouraged some stranger amazes me with another sale (cheap thrills!) and I earn a few dollars (cheap thrills too).
Nothing like $2 to get me all motivated again! Funny but true as many of you know.

Taking a break from Artist Marie I have been working on Internet Traffic Marie. I have been learning about social-networking/Facebook, social-marketing/Squidoo and test driving a second print-on-demand site Zazzle.
Who knew I would get so darn techie. (Brian/Kelly?)

Facebook Marie Schneider - A wonderful way to weave a tapestry of loved ones from you past, present and future.
  • Let's be friends! (does require a sign in)
  • My family - Casey, Robert, Tick ... where are the rest of you?
  • The Meeting School, NH around 1975
  • Kennebunkport - Childhood and around 1975
  • Yelm Telephone, Ycom Networks, FairPoint Communications from around 2000 -2007
  • CafePress Friends - My blessed cheer leaders
  • Blogging Friends - See links on this pages... Awesome sites
  • New Friends

Squidoo - A great place to integrate these other places and learn from others too! There is a log to learn but even with just two lenses I have seen a few folks discovered my store on my store. Wow! My new lenses:
Zazzle - Similar to CafePress - One awesome difference is that it allows you to 'customize' the products. You can change background colors and things like that. I am finding putting products up a bit cumbersome and am just test driving it for now. It may make sense to put my energy in my designs. We'll see...
I have also learned to use Instant Cafe Feeder which I learned how to use on Squidoo! Instant Cafe Feeder extracts a file from my CafePress store which then allows me to upload all my products into Google Base. Wow! I have done this successfully twice so I am almost an expert. Not really but I get a ridiculous glow every time it works.

If you are thinking geeze Marie there is a lot of reduncy here I couldn't agree more.
HOWEVER... the folks who seem to be making some income do all these things an more!

Now if lightening would stick and a zillion people would purchase one magnet I could quit working and retire!

Peace and Hugs

PS: I just learned how to change colors on my pages here...can you tell?!
Whoo whoo!
